Birthday Board

Our class is responsible for recognizing birthdays for students and staff at Red Cedar. As part of our daily calendar, we go to the birthday board. Students find the candle that has our date for the day. Then they place a paper flame on the top of the candle. Students look at the color of the candle and find the color on our Grade Key to see the grade of the birthday person. This year instead of writing birthday cards, we are giving personalized Hershey's Candy Bars. The students write the name of the birthday person on a candy wrapper. We are learning to fold the wrapper on the candy bar so the writing is on the front of the candy bar. Then the students tape the candy wrapper closed. Students deliver the candy bars and tell the birthday person "Happy Birthday". We are very popular! :)
